Runes in Dota 2 are unique game elements that provide powerful effects to your hero. Once activated, they disappear, granting their benefits for a limited time. Currently, there are six types of runes in the game.
The first runes spawn at the start of the match, with additional runes appearing every two minutes thereafter.
Types of Runes
-
Arcane Rune
- Reduces the cooldown of all spells by 30% and mana consumption by 40% for 50 seconds. This reduction is reflected in the ability descriptions and applies to both active and passive abilities. However, it does not affect the cooldowns of Tranquil Boots or Cloak and Dagger.
-
Bounty Rune
- Provides the hero with extra reliable gold. The Bounty Rune available at the start of the game is twice as effective as the subsequent ones. One Bounty Rune will always spawn alongside another random rune.
-
Double Damage Rune
- Upon activation, this rune grants the hero +100% physical damage for 45 seconds. It does not increase magic damage or the damage from the Divine Rapier item.
-
Haste Rune
- Boosts the hero’s movement speed to 550 for 22 seconds. Heroes affected by this rune will ignore all slow effects.
-
Regeneration Rune
- Enhances health and mana regeneration by 6% per second for 30 seconds. The effect is canceled if the hero takes damage or if their health and mana are close to maximum.
-
Invisibility Rune
- Makes the hero invisible for 45 seconds. Invisibility is lost if the hero attacks or uses spells/items. When activated, there is a two-second delay before the hero becomes invisible, allowing for actions (such as attacking or using items) during that time.
-
Illusion Rune
- Creates two illusions of the hero who activates it. The illusions last for 75 seconds before disappearing and deal 35% of the original hero’s damage. Melee illusions take 200% damage, while ranged illusions take 300% damage.
Understanding how to effectively utilize these runes can greatly enhance your gameplay and provide strategic advantages during matches.
